Wedding ceremonies are rarely as short as many people would like, with most taking up to an hour or even more.

This means some guests will be feeling a little hungry or thirsty by the time the ceremony reaches its climax.

In addition to being a polite gesture, giving your guests some snacks to munch before the ceremony shows you care about their well-being. Chilled water will do just fine in most circumstances, but it doesn’t have to stop there if your budget allows.

Below, we’ve compiled a list of our favorite pre-ceremony snacks for weddings if you need some inspiration while wedding planning.

Popcorn

Popcorn is one of the most basic and socially acceptable snacks to have on your wedding menu. It may not fill your guests’ stomachs, but it will keep them occupied before – and probably even during – the ceremony.

Beverages

If you’re having an outdoor event, it goes without saying that you should include a few beverages on your snack list.

These will not only be refreshing but will also keep your guests hydrated throughout the event. Cold beer, water, rosé, and chilled lemonade are some refreshing options to consider.

Trail Mix

Another excellent choice for outdoor ceremonies is trail mix. These can include a combination of your favorite nuts, seeds, and dried fruits and should essentially be geared towards replenishing your guests’ energy.

One way to present the trail mix is to wrap it up in a colorful paper cone that reflects the wedding’s theme and the bride’s personality. Depending on the weather, your combination can include chocolate chunks, tart cherries, coconut flakes, roasted almonds, diced apricot, and chocolate-covered raisins.

Salty Snacks

Salty snacks are simple, tasty, and excellent at eliminating hunger pangs. Potato chips, spiced nuts, and salted crackers are great snacks in this category.

Regarding the serving, you can either pack them yourself in paper bags for the guests to pick up or place jars and serving spoons at a table and let the guests pick their servings.

Champagne

Weddings are a celebration, and nothing can bring out that celebratory vibe like a tall glass of champagne to start the day.

Depending on the type and number of guests, you can have some immaculately dressed servers hand the glasses to the guests as they arrive or have some filled flutes ready for self-picking.
